Ten years ago: I was 12. I was in sixth grade. This means I had horrible hair and horrible clothes. I was too quiet.
Five years ago: age 17. sailing. teaching sailing. there were boys. i was acting immature. this was my most immature year. yes.
One year ago: I was happy. One year ago today I was at school teaching for the month. I had mono and a list of other things. I was blossoming as a wine-o.
Yesterday: I worked at the museum, making new activities. I got home and had a sandwich. i watched queer eye and blow out. i talked to a lot of people on the phone.
Today: I woke up. I went to jim's and talked to his mom for a while. i came home and showered. i went to the post office and mailed something to penelope. i drove into work. i worked til 9 and had the best time. i love the museum. i came home, made pasta, and watched lost.
Tomorrow: I will work at the museum. I might get dinner with powell. I will hopefully find a new book to read.
Five snacks I enjoy: snacks? cheese and crackers. artichoke dip. pretzels. stuffed mushrooms. cake. is that a snack?
Five bands that I know the lyrics of MOST of their songs: wilco. led zeppelin. elliott smith. damien rice. frank sinatra.
What would you do with $100,000,000: travel. to africa and to every museum on my list. buy a sweet apartment in nyc.
Five locations I'd like to run away to: roma. capri. . . i don't know.
Five things I would never wear: those stupid ruffle-y skirts. things from abercrombie. clothes with big logos. shirts that are too short and meant to be that way. short shorts.
Five TV shows I like: 24. queer eye. the oc. lost. blow out.
Five Movies I like: say anything. high fidelity. ferris bueller. thomas crown affair. father of the bride.
Five biggest joys at the moment: museum internship. friends. car. job for the next year or two. books.

The point is, ladies and gentleman, is that greed -- for lack of a better word -- is good.
Greed is right.
Greed works.
Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.
Greed, in all of its forms -- greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge -- has marked the upward surge of mankind.
And greed -- you mark my words -- will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA.

the museum was good. i have my hours for the rest of the summer. tues, thurs, and friday 10-4 and wednesday 1-9. LOVELY. im excited so far. but im so tired from walking around in heels all day.
im not sure if i want to be social tonight or drink a few glasses of pinot gris and pass out. in all honesty, however, i am dreaming of a perfect marechal foch.

this was probably my best 4th of july yet. it was my best weekend of the summer yet, too. i spent it with erin and powell. that's why.
tomorrow i am working at the mfa and then catching dinner and a movie with powell in town.
my eyes sting because i am tired. goodnight.
